Nat & Ben’s Monthly Reality Check. Conversations with interesting people that demystify how people think, why they act, what society is for, and where next for our region.

It really is all mental.  Our brain is the most complex object in the universe and each and every one is wired uniquely.  Without our brain, we couldn’t see, hear, speak, feel, think, learn, judge, solve problems, or move our bodies.  Everything we do changes our brain to some degree – the food we eat, the company we keep, the beliefs we hold, the experiences we have, the technology we use, the work we do, the knowledge we acquire – and these either create new neuronal connections or reinforce existing pathways.

Many scientists consider the brain and mind to be the final frontier of discovery in the 21st Century.  With a lot to learn we should be interested in what we don’t know.  Furthermore, when we consider all of our shared challenges are downstream from our thoughts and behaviours, It’s All Mental is about exploring our mental world.

The change required won’t come from the centre or the status quo.  Change happens from within us, between us, and at the social and cognitive fringes.

This is why we want to make our region a great place for diverse minds to live, learn, and work.   Will you join us on this quest?
